Cultivating the Seeds of Growth

TEDM - Trevis (1)

An experienced real estate investor and entrepreneur, Trevis McConaghy grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. He bought his first farmland with his brothers when he was a teenager, which he still owns a portion of today. He then went on to earn two degrees – a Bachelor of Agricultural Economics and a Bachelor of Commerce – from the University of Saskatchewan. Today, his desire to give back is at the core of his accomplishments, and he gives four scholarships at his alma mater to students who are active in the community.

The quick decision-making Trevis learned as a farmer transferred well to real estate investing. A long-time REIN member, he has bought and sold over 100 doors. With a solid foundation in residential real estate, Trevis is venturing into multi-family, commercial and industrial deals. Through his experiences, he has also learned about drywall, framing, flooring, electrical and plumbing work.

Trevis believes the key to business success is to take immediate, decisive action. He says if you’re always scared of taking the next leap, you’re not going to get anywhere. In real estate, Trevis is fast to make things happen and skilled at finding solutions to problems.

On the latest episode of The Everyday Millionaire, Trevis discusses his farming background and the innovation that has always been at the forefront of his family’s business. He talks about the beginnings of his real estate investing journey, how he became a REIN member, and his strategies for investing in Saskatchewan. Trevis also shares the lessons he has learned on his journey, as well as his advice for growing in business and elevating in life.
