An Innovative Investor is one who has taken a creative buying strategy and perfected it.  Examples of strategies could include:  rent-to-own, options to purchase, agreements for sale, assignments, furnished rentals, flipping distressed properties, investing out of the country, etc.

Joint Gold Pin award winners, and co-founders of Summit Pacific Properties Ltd, Scott joined REIN in July 2008, and Nick followed in May 2010. In 2015 they received an accepted offer on a piece of property that will allow them to develop 18 row homes, and then build a 44 unit rental apartment building – a purchase they have been working towards for five years.

Both Scott and Nick work very hard to ensure they are involved in the lives of other REIN Members, and the community at large. They are often found freely sharing their unique building system, as well as their system for the development and analysis of development properties, with others. In addition to being Real Estate Investment Advisors at REIN, they also present regularly at REIN events, participate in panels, workshops, and on REIN’s Advisory Board.

To support their community, Scott and Nick also donate a percentage of their investment profit towards assisting with housing those less fortunate.

A Platinum Pin award winner, Trevis joined REIN in October 2012, and has completed a total of 8 modular and mobile home moves, purchased a meat plant, and sold the equipment and repurposed it to his benefit. He’s accomplished all of this over the course of just a year.

Despite living in northern Saskatchewan, Trevis is a very active REIN Member, attending and even speaking at multiple REIN events. He recognizes the potential in other ambitious real estate investors, and as such, he has flown multiple people to attend ACRE events.

Trevis has also taken on larger volunteer roles in his community. He sits on a sub-committee to help reinvigorate “Main Street Melfort”, and is a Deputy Governor for Kin Canada, representing 8 Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs. As a Deputy Governor, Trevis attended 8 days of seminars, as well as Kin Canada’s National Convention in Brandon. He thoroughly enjoys being surrounded by people who are “serving the community’s greatest need.”

A Silver Pin award winner, Keith joined REIN in March 2011, and made the step from REIN Member to presenter in 2015, educating the Calgary REIN Members about secondary suites in a meeting where attendance exceeded full capacity.

In addition to sharing his research on secondary suites with the REIN community over multiple presentations, Keith also wrote two articles for the REIN Report, and gives his time freely to fellow REIN Members. While he is not an REIA, Keith nonetheless mentored one fellow REIN Member, assisted another with the implementation of her legal secondary suite strategy, and met with a third Member to help her work through her detailed five-year wealth plan.

Keith believes that the knowledge he has gained through investing in real estate, and through his time as a Member of REIN, is important for him to share, so others may have the same experience.

A Multi-Family Bronze Pin award winner, Valeri joined REIN in December 2013. He believes that the greatest challenge for most new REIN Members is not a lack of money, opportunity, or time, but a lack of confidence, accountability, and good advice.

It’s because of this belief that Valeri works hard to give back to the REIN community. He feels it’s important to share his experience and knowledge with REIN Members. He has written several articles for the REIN Report about purchasing Tax Sale and Power of Sale properties, how to avoid serious pitfalls when dealing with distressed properties, and he also speaks about his experiences at REIN meetings.

With his most recent purchase of 18 townhouses nearing completion, Valeri has achieved his personal Belize, and now he is looking to give back to the REIN community and help others reach their personal Belize, as well.
