Don Rosom: Overcoming Adversity
By Don Rosom
I started my real estate investing business in 2005 in Regina, Saskatchewan. I started with a 4-plex, which I renovated and sold after three years and continue to invest in single-family homes in Regina. I have also ventured to learn more about Real Estate Tax Deed auctions in Houston, Texas.
Investing in real estate is allowing me to live my dream in retirement after a 35 year career as a Drafting Technician for SaskPower. It is so satisfying to have helped a young married couple get into a home and watch them start their business venture. This event in my life makes me wish that I had been a lifelong coach.
One lesson I have learned over the years is to do my best in whatever I do, with honesty and integrity being my main focus. Dealing with adversity in my life has made me stronger, as I have overcome the challenge of a severe stutter. Going from a stutter to public speaking has made me want to coach others in times of adversity.
I love coaching because it helps me to listen and learn while assisting others fulfill their dreams in life.
