Jay Gabrani has been investing in real estate for more than 11 years. He was born and raised in Toronto. After a short stint investing in the Edmonton market, he now focuses his investments in the Oakville area, buying only single family homes on 60ft lots.
Before Jay was introduced to real estate, he learned a lesson from a family member on a trip to India that changed his life.
Jay started out as a professional accountant, and very quickly realized that it was not for him. Shortly after leaving the accounting field, Jay realized he needed to build businesses, and invest in real estate. Jay has been a full time entrepreneur since the age of 25.
He opened a franchise coffee house and was full on in the restaurant business. He cut his teeth in business and learned how to be an entrepreneur. He summarizes his experience into two major phases: the first seven years he was working in the business as an operator, then after the birth of his children he became an owner working on his business.
Once he stepped back from the day to day of his business he decided to learn how to invest in real estate and had his introduction to REIN.
